M/s GRM (Raikela Iron Ore Mines) is spread over an area of 67.586 hectares. Steel & Mines Department, Govt. of Odisha granted the mining lease in favour of Geetarani Mohanty for iron ore mining over near village Raikela under Bonai Sub-division in Sundergarh District.
The lease deed was executed on 02/07/1991 for a period of 20 years i.e. up to 0/07/2011. Subsequently, the lease was transferred in favour of M/s. Geetarani Mohanty a registered partnership firm with due permission of Govt. of India followed by the permission of Govt. of Odisha by Department of Steel & Mines vide Proceeding No. IV (B) SM-8/92-11868, dated 17/10/1992. This transfer of mining lease deed was executed on 13/01/1993. The non-forest land over an area of 66.671 ha out of total lease area over 67.586 ha. was included in the D.L.C report of Sundargarh district during 1997 and balance 0.915 ha. remains as non-forest land. The Renewal of Mining Lease application filed before one year of the expiry of lease bearing RML no-171 on date 20/05/2010. The lease is now valid till 2041.

A team of Mechanical Engineers and ITI students with skilled professionals work round the clock for maintenance of the heavy equipments and LMVs to ensure minimum breakdown hours and achieve target production. The team also works in tandem with the Mining team to ensure proper lighting as per DGMS direction and to ensure safe mining practices.
